Have received a comment about the credibility of Sitepie.com. The comment was as follows:

“Looks like an interesting concept.  What are you doing to be found though?

I also wondered after reading your site how I know that you will give the domain to me or my company since sitepie actually owns it.”

Since this is one of the most important aspects of our business model I have committed a blog post to this concern. I have 2 main reasons to trust Sitepie:

Self interest

Because we want to build Sitepie.com into a kind of incubator for creativity, our interest is to be trusted so that people feel comfortable using our service. Any negative press on this issue will ruin our chances of building a sustainable company.

The law

If we don’t obey our own contracts we violate the law and we are committing fraud. There are two ways to prevent us from doing that:

One is by filing a dispute with the ICANN (the corporation that regulated the domain name system). In this way you can get control over the domain name by convincing the ICANN that you have the right to the ownership of the domain. Two is by filing a complaint of internet fraud with Dutch authorities. In this way Sitepie will be prosecuted by the Dutch authorities for cyber crime and fraud.
